Obesity can be defined as an excessive fat accumulation that increases the risk of health problems presents a risk to health. A body mass index (BMI) over 25 is considered as overweight, and over 30 is obese. The issue has grown to epidemic proportions, with over 4 million people dying each year as a result of being overweight or obese in 2017 according to the global burden of disease. - Genetic factors- Beeja Dosha as per Ayurveda
- Habitual cause- This includes lifestyle changes such as what a person eats like eating large amounts of food which is Sweet, cold processed or fast food that is rich in fat and sugar, drinking alcohol, intake of sugary drinks, lack of physical activity etc.
- Psychological factors - including stress, depressed mood etc.
- Other factors - Obesity linked disorders such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Coronary artery diseases, Hypothyroidism, Sleep Apnea, Dyslipidemia.
