Derived from Malayalam to loosely mean ‘I’m the tallest' (thadi means broad, yenda is mine and mol is high), Thadiyendamol at 5730 feet is the highest peak in Coorg. After Mullaiyangiri in the Baba Budan range, it is the second-highest in Karnataka. Not to be outdone by the No.1, Thadiyendamol too lures trekkers with a glimpse of the coastline on a clear day. It takes about 2-3 hours to get to the top. The perfect base for several rainforest treks is a town called Kakkabe.
