Atmosphere and seasons of Kodagu

The Kodagu is a hill station in the Western Ghats in Karnataka, India. This is popular for its coffee plantations, spices, and forests. The Kodagu has a tropical climate with two seasons - summer and winter. Summer lasts from April to June with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. Winter starts from November to February with an average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. The climate of Kodagu is generally hot and humid. The maximum daytime temperature during the summer months can exceed 35°C. The highest temperature ever recorded in the region was 41°C, recorded in 1887 at Hunsur.

Kodagu is a land of lush green valleys, misty hills, and beautiful waterfalls. It has a tropical climate with heavy rainfall during the monsoon season from June to September. The climate here is moderate and the rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year. The best time to visit Kodagu is during the months of October to May. The Western Ghats are one of the world's ten "Hottest biodiversity hotspots". Kodagu has been recognized as an Important Bird Area by Birdlife International because it supports over 160 species of birds, including some that are endemic to this region.
